the leaves are changing. its magnificent green gives in to tinges of red and purple seeping in dangerously through cracks where their guard have fallen.
the veins give a slight shudder as fingers of firy red claw mercilessly, forcibly pushing back the lush green and finally engulfing it, licking its sides until it gives a final burst before burning into non-existence.
then comes a chill in the air as a cool breeze blows ominously, threatening to scatter the leaves while the twigs frantically scramble to pull them in place.
meanwhile, inbetween all the commotion, invisible fingers sneak along the branches. dancing between the groups of twigs, they dart between clusters of a gradient of colours, stroking the fine details carved into individual branches, numbing the ties they hold with each blazing leaf.
they cloud their visions, numbing their senses as the red loses its fire and crumbles into an ashy brown.
then, when all is in place, the wind plays its role, tugging each crippled leaf with ease, twisting them in odd places. until finally, with a barely audible crack, the branches break in agony, and its leaves will fall, one... by one...
