another trip to bbs
Friday, January 16, 2009 x 5:33 PM
it's a day to reminisce the past! irene, vina, ratna and i visited dear old bina bangsa school.
the post will be started with a picture of irene in the car, sitting beside the window, the scenery passing her, and the evening light glowing on her face as her eyes scan the pages of a book. and when you zoom into the picture...
woops it's a comic book.
yes, ladies and gentlemen, i have reclaimed my long-lost interest in comic books. there goes my pocket money.
anyways, it turned out that the students were dismissed at 2 today!! which meant we were quite late (we reached there at 3ish). only few people were left. we still got to say happy birthday to janet though. and almost forgot to wish hans who was standing next to her o.o so sorry!!!! it kind of slipped me that twin's share the same birthdays...
if you've been following janet's blog, you'll know that there are some changes in bbs. they've always been switching this room to this floor and that room to that floor. it's kind of messed up. the seventh floor did turn out nice, but this time.... uhh not really don't think so. everything just looks out of place.
as requested, i took pictures!! when we entered the building, there was this... receptionist-like area. with a table and a huge dark brown wall behind it.
if you look at it from the side, the wall just doesn't really fit in. just seems to pop up out of nowhere.
behind that, a mirror. god knows what it's doing there. so i guess if you're still in school late at night and you enter the lift alone, you can see your reflection when the lift door closes.... and suddenly............. is that.... a shadow... behind you........
the lobby? ooohh much bigger. the wall separating it from the canteen is gone, replaced with a gate. and part of the canteen is also converted to an extension of the lobby. which is why it looks soooooo much bigger now.

over to the canteen. smaller, higher ceilings. i do not like the ceilings!!! it's like this cheap.... metal... aluminium-like... material. well i don't know about cheap but it sure looks like it. my sister says it's zinc 'cuz aluminium's expensive (and the school doesn't really do expensive). or maybe it's iron...
the cooking club's still outside the canteen. i don't know how they see anything it's so dark. that's 'cuz they increased the height of the walls around that part of the school. to prevent students from buying food from street vendors, perhaps? so the canteen will increase in popularity, and hence profit?
btw i met emily, who was wearing the new basketball jersey and i gotta say...
UGLEH!!!!!!! ew??? the school name isn't even on it!!! good lord how the hell did they manage to agree on it????
okay next! when allison and janet went home, bella took us on a tour. first up: second floor.
what used to be the computer lab is now the bookstore. come to think about it i forgot to ask where the computer lab is now.

ratna bought foolscap. i think that's one of the loved school products. now why isn't the yearbook out yet??
fifth floor. library will move here.
doors leading to future library
it's still empty. but wow... as janet mentioned in her blog, big!!!!! now there's all those empty spac---
i did not want to take a photo of that! she just leaped into the picture. here's the real space:

and of course we had to visit our class =)
so let's see what's on the whiteboard:
uh... okay i pointed the camera at the board (full of physics stuff) and irene oh-so-SUDDENLY juuumped and landed splat there - while posing
and maths still take up a chunk of the homework board
those who forgot what homework you have? woohooo you can check it here!!! you got a test on thuuursday you got a test on thuuuursday
there's also this whole list of chemistry terms on the green board.
i was like..... wtf.... but bella managed to explain every term that we asked (that's when our Spacing Out Syndrome kicked in).
7th floor was already renovated before we left. now that's one renovation i approve of. they were decorating it for teacher's day.
a group of girls were rehearsing a dance routine but no i didn't take a picture. don't want them to go why-the-hell-is-this-girl-taking-pictures-of-us-oh-wait-hey-i-know-her. ohey i should have taken pictures of the whole 7th floor for alumnis who haven't seen it. oh weeeelllll
turn right after you get off the lift on the third floor and voila! door to the teacher's room
oh look it's ms vanda and mr zarge!
they completely ignored us. but well mr zarge had to pass us on his way home so he had to say hi. and he got stuck in the lift door 'cuz it just closed and wouldn't open up again. bella had to help force the doors to stay open.
that's about all the changes to the school building. we then decided to go behind the school building. to buy ketoprak of course >=)

school from the back
i swear you can spot this building a mile away. and don't forget the fact that the side walls (not shown in this picture) are a bright bright sunny yellow.
the high high walls
oh look you can see the roof of the canteen. now you tell me that material does not look cheap.
we're reaching the end of out poooost!!! now.... i will make you all salivate with....
ketoprak <3
which indonesian studying overseas does not miss this????
now i need to pack for angela's birthday in pulau ayer tomorrow. let's pray that we won't be swallowed by waves!!!
