walk in the rain

it was raining when i got a call from sophia, asking me to come over and play. i couldn't find my driver so i thought, why the heck not, and decided to cross the road and walk there.
i was reminded by something i learned in nyc: never ever walk in the rain wearing slippers. my feet were soaked and dirt clung on them. and knowing the uneven jakarta streets, i had to watch out fora lot of puddles.
by the time i reached her house, both my legs were wet, my bag was damp and my feet had a few unidentified black stuff stuck on them.
oh and you know those scenes in comics, where a car zooms past, splashing you all over with puddle water? i've always thought it was so exaggerated. but today, had i not kept that close to the sidewalk at that point of time when crossing the street, i would have been met with that fate. that stupid driver.
