i was constantly comparing sydney with new york. sydney is, of course, smaller, and with a lot less people. even in the city it's sooo much more spacious. the neighbourhood is extremely quiet and peaceful. i like <3
it's also cleaner and more organised (but chinatown still sucks). smaller roads, motorcycles are a rare sight (way to go!!!!). plus, everything doesn't look the same.

unfortunately, no subways. i hated new york subways. i used to complain endlessly about them. but buses are that much worse.
how many times will i get lost if i travel by bus?? not all have speakers announcing what the next stop is. no huge, impossible-to-miss signs with the street name printed in big capital letters at the stops. you'll have to memorise the roads and watch where you're going. i will get lost 9546064654086767386120 times more!!
anyways here's the neighbourhood my brother lives in:

i love the houses there! they're so small and mini and short and cute. a lot are little red brick houses.

the house he lives in
the house has a grand piano man!!!!! omg!!! and to think i FORGOT TO TEST IT OUT. i wanna play on a granddd T__T stupid stupid stupid.

and his room:

enter and a poster of suzumiya haruhi greets you. anime figurines are lined up on the bookshelf. his desktop wallpaper is C.C. ladies and gentlemen, my brother is an otaku.

i want!
he claimed that he walked around kingsford wearing these after an anime festival (i forced ryan to wear them and pose):

however, i was quite shocked to see this stuck on the door:

a girl in a bikini!!! so he's still interested in human girls?? i thought it's 2D all the way.

C.C. for his phone strap. i just remembered he has code geass illustration books.

and lucky star manga and haruhi light novels. in japanese.

look he reads twilight too
the view from the balcony:

my first meal was in my little brother's favourite restaurant. i never bothered to find out the name. but ryan calls it "
baju merah", simply because the waitresses wear red shirts. lol.

ryan doesn't look too happy? ya he was sulking 'cuz mum refused to buy him yu gi oh cards.

complimentary soup. warm and nice in the cold weather

didn't really like
the weather was.... weird. cold in the mornings. at noon, it's hot, but when the wind blows, it's chilly. so sometimes the wind's so cold you just want to put on your jacket, but then it suddenly stops and you feel the sun rays on your skin, making it too hot. once i carried my jacket around for ages just deliberating whether i should put it on, before finally returning it into my bag.
